As we all know, in the past century technology has been growing and involved in our lives more than ever. Metaverse and Web3 are some examples of it.
If you had a time machine and went back to the 80s, telling people that you could put on some glasses and go to somewhere called metaverse they would have probably started laughing at you and then started calling you crazy.
But if you go up to the 80s SciFi book clubs and say the same thing, you wouldn’t get the same reaction that you did last time. you’d get amusement and excitement. But Why?
Well then because SciFi books have been predicting the future and now that we are in the 21st century nothing seems impossible anymore. That’s why web3 and metaverse are concepts and are growing in popularity the second you are reading this article.
What is Web3?
Well if you don’t have any background about web3 and you just heard your friend saying it in front of some girls to look cool. I will try my best to describe it as simply as possible so that you could get back to your friend’s party.
Web3 is simply a series of ideas that would make our online and social lives a little bit better and safer.
For example, we can do online shopping without our real identity. We can like our friend’s posts without them knowing it’s us. I’m pretty sure We can own MacDonald or Starbucks if we want to. I can’t go into details because this is a new contempt and nobody really knows what exactly web 3 means also it’s a very long explanation to give. Now it.s metaverse’s turn.
What is Metaverse?
Well don’t worry, this topic will be much easier than web3 because we already have been seeing it in our lives.
“Metaverse” is a term used to describe a virtual world where people can interact with each other and engage.
Games such as Fortnite and Minecraft are the most common examples that you hear once or twice if you hang out with a gamer or teenager.
Are they the same thing?
Well, looking at the past few paragraphs you could figure it out yourself. They are not the same thing but most people think they are, why is that?
One of the reasons many people on social media think that is because as we said both of them are still unclear about their definitions. Each company has its own identifications and ideas about these two topics so people would be confused and irritated by these new topics. which is a very normal thing in this modern world, do you think in the early 90s most people knew what exactly the internet is and what it does? Of course not.
Where are they headed?
Well, this is a little bit tricky question to answer because we certainly don’t know what would happen even in near future. (A very sad and history-changing example is Covid-19 and its impact on the world’s economy). What we can say is that the world at this moment is running on fuels that were animals 63 billion years ago. This means that whatever we built now in the world of technology will someday be the bases of a great universe in which we are unknown.
I know, it’s all confusing and hard. At some point after searching throw some articles and facing thousands of topics with big words, you will end up throwing your MacBook to the wall and going back to the good old Instagram and TikTok apps. The ones you are familiar with and believe me. Sometimes I have the same feelings too!
But unfortunately, we can’t deny the importance of knowing and being familiar with the future of technology. in a very short time the future of our kids and ourselves. But the good news is from now on I’m here to explain these topics as simply as I could to you so that you could be a little more relieved about what is coming.
